Cannabis and Self-Care: Two Sides of the Same Coin

The Coin: Our Endocannabinoid System

First, let’s define endocannabinoids. Cannabinoids, as you can guess, come from the word cannabis. The “endo” stands for is endogenous, which means that it is made naturally in your body (and not consumed via an external substance). So endocannabinoid system simply means the naturally occurring system of cannabis-like substances inside all humans.

On One Side, Cannabis

Cannabis is a powerful wellness tool for many people. Cannabinoids within the plant are chemical compounds that that has many therapeutic properties. The plant has been found to contain over 80 different cannabinoids. However, THC and CBD are the most prevalent.

These cannabinoids interact with the human endocannabinoid system (ECS), which regulates various functions in the body, including mood, memory, appetite, and pain.

On the Other Side, Self-Care

Self-care is an investment in yourself. Therefore, stress-relieving activities are vitally important for a healthy endocannabinoid system. Incorporating self-care practices such as yoga and social interaction in your daily routine will boost your ECS. The caveat is choosing an activity you enjoy.

Studies found that people who exercise voluntarily have greater endocannabinoid levels than those who exercise under coercion. As a result, if you force yourself to exercise, your ECS will translate the exercise as stress.

Thereby, integrating cannabis into your self-care routine can be a double whammy for healing.

Cannabis and Self-Care

Here’s a breakdown of four techniques, along with tips to help you boost your endocannabinoid system.

Clean Up the Crib

Many people feel much better when their space is clean. A quick pick-up can really help you feel more calm, happy, and balanced. Start with a room or a small area in your home, then build your routine out.

It’s also a dope way to organize your thoughts before starting your day.

Sativa dominate hybrid strain

Do you need a puff to get started or a drag to keep you going, or a whole vibe to reward yourself when it’s done? Sativa-dominant strains are described as energizing, mood-uplifting, and creativity-inducing.

Practice Packing a Pre-rolled Smoking Cone

Being an expert joint roller isn’t necessary to experience a genuinely gorgeous joint in 2022. Want to know why? Because self-care includes developing a skill. Learning a new skill like twisting up the perfect joint reportedly increases self-esteem and our ability to cope with stress.

Indica dominate strain

If you’re planning on using cannabis as a way to increase your focus, then indica dominate strains are an excellent choice for you. This type of strain will typically relax you and make you feel less anxious.

Keep a Journal

Living with anxiety means you’ll often go over things that make you nervous or focus on challenging tasks. Therefore, make a note of what’s going well in your day. Be kind to yourself and praise yourself often.

Sativa strain

Sativa strains can help shift or unblock creativity or generate new ideas for some. Not limited to creativity, Cannabis sativa strains can provide you with more introspective experiences.

Fade to Black

Don’t sleep on sleeping. Suppose you’re among the many people that suffer from anxiety over not being able to sleep. Studies show a connection between cannabis and a good night’s sleep, so the plant might do the trick for those restless nights.

Indica strain edibles

You may be interested to hear that edibles could provide beneficial anxiety-relieving properties. An indica gummy before bed could help relax your thoughts and muscles to allow your imagination to wander away on more fun, dreamy adventures.

The Future of Self-Care with Cannabis

Self-care and cannabis are undergoing a revolution. With the emergence of new wellness practices that are more inclusive than ever before, we must take the time each day to practice caring for ourselves.

To note, not all types of cannabis will provide the same benefits for everyone. Speak with a cannabis professional before beginning a self-care plan.

CBD for Depression: What Would MLK Do?

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is known for his work in the Civil Rights Movement and nonviolent activism against racial inequality. MLK is importantly considered one of the most influential leaders in U.S history who suffered from depression.

It is a common mental health disorder that affects people of different ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities. People who suffer from depression may experience persistent sadness, hopelessness, and worthlessness.

Symptoms can also manifest as anger or irritation, such as feeling like everything is an effort to do something. Depression is a disease that impacts brain chemistry and spreads into all aspects of life.

MLK

MLK Growing Up

MLK experienced both ups and downs growing up. An exceptional kid, he skipped his last two years of high school and enrolled at Morehouse College when he was 15.

On the other hand, following his grandmother’s passing from a heart attack on May 18, 1941, MLK attempted suicide twice by 13.

MLK

MLK Sr. noted, Martin Luther King, Jr, jumped from the second-floor window of his house after her death. He went on that Jr. would have crying spells, and was unable to sleep.

Dr. King had bouts of severe depression in adulthood. As we are still fighting the stigma around mental health today, he was concerned that people who opposed the civil rights movement would use it as a way to discredit him. As a result, he kept his symptoms a secret.

Stigma in the Black Community

Fundamental research suggests that the rates of depression in African-Americans are roughly equal to or slightly less than Whites.

However, much of the research into Black people and depression find that it lasts longer in African-Americans than Whites. They may have other health issues, too, such as addiction, PTSD, and generalized anxiety.

Certainly, mental health stigma is strong in Black communities. Moreover, it affects Black men more strongly.

Stigma might affect someone who has depression, so they:

MLK
  • Instead of seeking treatment, many people avoid seeking help because they are afraid of admitting they have a problem.
  • Think that their depression is all in their head or the result of being a failure
  • Feel like they’re letting others down or like they don’t deserve help from others.
  • Worry about how racism in the medical industry affects their mental healthcare experience.

What treatments are available?

However prevalent mental health stigma is in the Black Community, we don’t have to suffer in silence. Even if it doesn’t feel like it, symptoms can be managed with treatment. Many people have to experiment with different treatments to find which one works best.

The most common treatments for depression include:

  • Self-care is the act where people put themselves first every day. Self-care includes getting enough quality sleep.
  • There are a variety of medications you can take for depression. A person might need to try different ones or different doses of one to feel better.
  • Going into therapy is a great idea. You’ll be able to process negative emotions, strengthen your coping skills, heal your relationships, and understand the connection between your thoughts and feelings.
  • Lifestyle changes like more exercise and healthy eating can make a huge difference
  • Some people with severe depression might need to stay at a residential rehab center
  • A growing number of people find additional support from CBD, meditation, and other alternatives.

CBD for Depression: What Would MLK Do?

Now it’s 2022 and cannabis research is spreading worldwide. What stance would Reverend Martin Luther King Jr might have taken on CBD as a potential weapon to combat mental health issues.

Would he himself sought to treat his symptoms of depression with medicinal cannabis?

MLK

Dr. Livingston, the Senior Pastor of the Church of God by Faith #1 in Gainesville, Florida offers his point of view stating,

“I see pain daily. I lay hands on them, I do all the spiritual things I need to do, but sometimes the pain continues. So, compassionately, I want to support whatever it takes to relieve pain. If a doctor prescribes medical marijuana, you have my support. I’m not going to put you on the altar and send you to hell.”

#Relevnt | Interview with Chris Marks of Your Cyber Guide

Louisiana-born Chris Marks of Your Cyber Guide always wanted to work in cyber security. He shares with us that he didn’t know of a degree program for cyber security where he was from. So, he went to college, graduated, then took it upon himself to learn the skills on his own and become an expert in the field.

Chris advocates for increasing the black and brown presence in the industry while building security awareness for the green industry. People don’t look like me. So I feel that people are trying to get just dispensaries. There are other things in this green industry that we can do if you don’t want to own a dispensary. We’re talking about creating an ecosystem.

He’s now in Dallas, Texas working with small-to-medium-size cannabis companies, trying to find people who need or might not even know they need to talk security. Chris asks business owners the tough questions like:

  • Are your people on your register logging in with one password? If so, why?
  • Do you have an acceptable usage policy to know what they can work on and what they can not use on your internet?

#THC2021 | Interview with Nikita Seal, Owner of Pretty Rolls™

In this week’s post, we’re highlighting Nikita Seal, the owner of Pretty Rolls™. She shares with us that she didn’t know how to roll a joint, so it inspired her to bring luxury to the smoking experience for the “feminine” smoker by launching her own pre-rolled cone brand.

Fire it Up!

Tell us about Pretty Rolls™ and how you got started.

I’m a smoker who can’t roll a proper joint to save my life. So, I started using cones and had the idea to start my own pre-rolled cone company. Therefore Pretty Rolls was born.

Pretty Rolls is a play on words (Pre-Rolls). Pretty Rolls™ is not just a company that sells cones; we create luxury experiences for feminine smokers. We host private parties such as Puffin in the Park, Blunts, and Brunch, and our next event will be blunts and yoga.

What motivated Pretty Rolls™ to travel to The Texas Hemp Convention?

Although this was my first one, it only felt right to get my feet wet and be a part of this convention. Second, to meet so many people worldwide in this industry in one place was a no-brainer.

Tell us about your top-selling product or services.

Our top-selling product is our cones. They are slow-burning, with no runs or tears. Pretty Rolls™ are made of rice paper and natural dye which gives them that pretty pink color.

Pretty Rolls Mobile billboard

What were some challenges you faced entering the cannabis space?

Social media is banning my page and all the censorship. Also certain  family members not being supportive initially due to their judgmental way of thinking.

How do you maintain a positive outlook through it all?

I’m a naturally optimistic person. However, I meditate, pray and do a lot of self-care to keep myself grounded in the reality that I choose.

The fact that I choose is the one where everything always works out for me at the end. Even when the outcome is not the one I would have chosen.

Let’s Get Lit!

What have been some of your best practices for promoting Pretty Rolls™?

My best practice is to be authentically me and share the journey with my supporters. In a world filled with so many fakes and illusions. Real people respect REAL.

Pretty Rolls

What do you hope people take away from Pretty Rolls™ after leaving the convention?

I hope that people see that black women in this industry are here, we’re here to stay and more of us are on our way.

What would you like to see more of at the convention?

I would love to see more people of color in this space.

SHOP PRETTY ROLLS THIS SEASON!

What’s some advice for folks that want to get in the industry?

Know the laws and connect with everyone you can in this industry. People in this industry are some of the coolest people you’ll ever meet.

What’s next for Pretty Rolls™?

I see Pretty Rolls as a global brand in every smoke shop worldwide. Next year, I plan to tour, host our private parties, and spread pink love to everyone I meet.

#THC2021 | Interview with Troy, Creator of The Crazy World of Roach & Budd

L.T. Mock aka (Troy) , the creator of Dallas, Texas-based The Crazy World of Roach & Budd, brings his hilarious cartoon idea to the cannabis space. However, it is about more than illustrations, the Roach & Budd family brings love, laughter, and light to the cannabis industry.

Fire it Up!

Tell us about The Crazy World of Roach & Budd and how you got started.

The Roach & Budd brand started as a funny cartoon idea – The Crazy World of Roach & Budd. After years of planning and preparation with storylines and character development, we finally got the ball rolling. I began with a few designs that I would eventually turn into comic strips, The Roach & Budd “Chronicles”. After a few years of promoting and selling merchandise to help boost awareness, the brand grew. It was time to take the next step and bring the characters to life.

It took several attempts to find the right look as close to my vision as possible, but it finally came together. I went with my sound/production crew to record voiceover/sound for the Animation into the studio. It took a few hours…. and a couple of weeks, lol, to construct our first short episode.

Innovative work and dedication will take you a long way. The first episode has yet to be released,  but you can find clips via our social media sites/YouTube (Roach & Budd TV) as well as our website www.roachandbudd.com.

The actual release date has yet to be confirmed, but it’s estimated to be the first quarter of 2022.

What motivated The Crazy World of Roach & Budd to travel to The Texas Hemp Convention?

I am a Texas native born and raised, and I have been in the hemp industry for years now. I’m still learning and understanding what all it has to offer. I attended the first hemp convention to see what it was all about.

Then, this year they reached out to me to be a vendor and ended up a sponsor.

Texas Hemp Convention 2021
roachandbudd.com

Tell us The Crazy World of Roach & Budd’s top-selling product or service.

The top-selling product would be stickers and our Nurse Sweetie T-shirts. And, the top-selling service would be the Pothead Mascot. Everyone wants to chill with Pothead!

We get a lot of requests for him to make an appearance while I get to sign posters and meet our supporters.

What were some challenges you faced entering the cannabis space?

Not to play the race card, but being a Black man in the cannabis industry is tough. You see what’s going on in the world, and it’s like adding fuel to the fire.

I have had my encounters, but thankfully I have been blessed to see different turnouts my condolences  to victims who weren’t as lucky as I was., may they RIP.

The cannabis industry is such a fun market. The people are kool and the energy is different from what I’m used to. But understanding the laws from state to state can be a bit of a challenge since they are constantly changing.

Not getting the initial support from most of your family or peers was a good one. People looked at me and kind of laughed since I’m always joking and playing, and I guess they didn’t take the idea seriously. I can also say some weren’t too thrilled at me joining the cannabis world.

How do you maintain a positive outlook through it all?

I like to be an example to my children as they grow as well as others. The universe has a funny way of aligning us with our purpose and showing us things, and teaching us stuff through failure and falling on the way.

Things on a day-to-day may not go your way, but sometimes if you are patient enough and strong enough to endure whatever life throws at you at those moments, you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. And, even still, you have to focus and lean on your determination and faith to get to where you vision yourself to be.

Knowing that you will be stronger and very much prepared to overcome whatever comes after you reach the light.

I could go on and on.

Let’s Get Lit!

What have been some of your best practices for promoting The Crazy World of Roach & Budd?

  1. Going to different events and meeting people face to face. I love to see everyone’s reaction to the the brand as a whole
  2. The Animation clips are super dope. People love to see the characters in action.
  3. Aligning with the right people who have good intentions and love to spread the word.
  4. The music behind Roach & Budd allows us to be free ranged and enjoy the fun of creating at a HIGH level. “pun intended” LOL. It also gives us a chance to reach other artists with dope music that are interested in being involved in something special.

What do you hope people take away from The Crazy World of Roach & Budd after they leave the convention?

That we aren’t just any brand, we are a family. Above all else, we wish to bring light to the cannabis industry and break these stigmas. Helping to do our part in the fight.

We encourage others to not be afraid and to educate and medicate themselves naturally in a time where the use of opioids is rapidly increasing. Letting them know what’s behind the brand, fully functioning on love, great energy, and bringing people together.

But I do it the best way I know how by laughter and entertainment.

What would you like to see more of at the convention?

Education on the different laws and how to protect themselves if needed. Best strains for specific ailments and how they help fight certain symptoms.

The Crazy World of Roach & Budd

The Crazy World of Roach & Budd

What’s some advice for folks that want to get in the industry?

Educate yourself the best you can and don’t be afraid of not knowing. You never know who or how you help someone by enlightening yourself.

Don’t get overwhelmed by all the propaganda.

Pass It Around!

What’s next for The Crazy World of Roach & Budd?

Getting the world more acquainted with the brand. Getting the cartoon to new levels and putting myself and others in better positions to help and make a difference somehow.

How can people reach you?

#Relevnt | An Interview with Peter Labat IV, Owner of The Labat Wood Shop

Chicago-based The Labat Wood Shop owner,  Peter Labat IV loves to work on his woodworking, so much so that he’s turned it into a thriving business. He began storing projects that looked amazing, affordable, and easy on Pinterest in 2016. Soon, Peter was into various woodworking like carvings and furniture.

“The thing that captivated me about woodworking, is that it could be both beautiful and functional.”

Peter Labat IV

He started by making things for his home and gradually collecting tools. He spent four years perfecting his woodworking craft then in 2020, Peter lost his job as a navigational watch officer in the Gulf of Mexico.

Instantly he knew he’d be starting his own furniture company. Thus, The Labat Wood Shop was born.

The Labat Wood Shop

Let’s Get Lifted!

Drops or salve; Why?

I’m embarrassed to admit I haven’t had either. We don’t get many of these options in New Orleans, and I imagine it’s the same way in other places where cannabis isn’t legal. I’m hoping that as my business grows into stronger cannabis marketplaces, I’ll get to try things like this.

If you could be a cannabis superhero, who would you be?

I think I would be ‘Super Chill”. A guy who can make everyone sit down and be quiet haha. I love peace, quiet, tranquility, and calm. I hate commotion, chaos, and confusion.

What are your top 2 smoking songs?

This might be the hardest question. Curren$y is my favorite canna-rapper and one of my top of 5 overall favorites. His whole library is filled with smoking hits. But the two most acclaimed are Famous – from Pilot Talk 2 and Surface to Air from the How Fly mixtape with Wiz Khalifa

Dab into Business!

How did The Labat Wood Shop get started?

So, The Labat Wood Shop is a woodworking company first and foremost. We specialize in custom furniture building and design; it just so happens that our signature product is a premium rolling tray made from exotic hardwood. So we are not necessarily a cannabis brand. We’re more cannabis adjacent.

I started woodworking as a hobby in 2014. I loved how versatile and creative you could be with wood. You can carve and sculpt it to make artwork or use it to build furniture. You can paint it, stain it, toggle between classic and vintage styles, build coasters to houses, and everything in between.

I had already fallen in love with the craft, and planned to monetize it in some way before the pandemic. So when I got laid off from my job due to Covid, I already knew that I’d be starting a woodworking company. Now here we are, still charging ahead, trying to stay afloat!

RELATED: #Relevnt | An Interview with Tracey Schultz, Owner of PuffN Pretty

Describe your niche in the cannabis space.

As I said, our signature product is a premium rolling tray made from exotic hardwood, but it’s much more than that; it’s a Companion! See, your typical rolling tray is made from cheap, thin metal easily dented or damaged and has those goofy Scooby-Doo graphics printed on it.

That might be cool when you’re in college, but not when you’re a seasoned stoner. Most avid cannabis users are grown-ups, businessmen, and women who are working professionals and even have kids. No one who pays a mortgage should have to roll their flower on one of those goofy trays. We offer a more mature option to the marketplace.

We named it the Companion to show people that this is a LIFETIME smoking accessory. The last rolling tray you’ll ever need. We all cherish those moments when we finally sit down to roll up. Whether it’s the wake and bake or the nightcap, and when you pull out your one-of-a-kind smoking Companion, it makes that moment even more special!

Did you face any legal or criminal barriers to cannabis entry? If so, how did you overcome the barriers?

Thankfully, I’ve never faced any issues like this. The closest criminal encounter I’ve had was being busted hotboxing in my homeboy’s car down the road from our college. We saw the police car rolling upon us so I hurried up and swallowed the blunt.

The cop told us to exit the car, and when we did, of course, hella smoke poured out, but there was nothing left for him to find. He asked us what we were doing here, and we told him we were students. He just told us to go and never come back. We were so shook I think we quit smoking for about a week haha.

WHAT ARE SOME TALENTS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE that YOU have TRANSFERRED TO CANNABIS?

I think I’m a very sociable person! I enjoy conversing with people about interesting topics. Hobbies, jobs, life, and whatever gets us both excited enough to truly engage with one another.

I’ve always been organized and structured though as well. So I know how to use my time wisely, accomplish tasks, and stay productive.

WHAT ARE SOME TALENTS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE that YOU Have PICKED UP WHILE IN CANNABIS?

How to be a salesman! I’ve had to really sharpen my sales skills since being in business. Knowing how to talk to customers, tell them what they want to hear, and explain my company and product well. Learning where to find customers and how to attract them.

Which tech tools did you use to start The Labat Wood Shop?

  • Wix for my website
  • Quickbooks for bookkeeping
  • Instagram and Facebook for marketing/sales.
  • Getting into Tik Tok now.
  • Inshot for photo/video editing

How does The Labat Wood Shop stand out from other brands within your target population?

The Labat Wood Shop stands out as a brand because there aren’t any household woodworking brands inside the cannabis space that I’m aware of. Raw makes wooden rolling trays, yes, but not out of exotic wood, and their trays don’t tell a story or have a name like ours do!

For them, it’s just another product in their line, and that’s okay. We want to be a household name for wooden rolling trays inside the cannabis space. What Raw is to rolling papers, we want to be to rolling trays.

I’m a woodworking enthusiast, so I’m more passionate about woodworking than cannabis, and I think that’s what makes us unique.

Tell us about The Labat Wood Shop’s top products and services.

Our signature product is The Companion, a premium rolling tray made from exotic hardwoods such as maple, African Mahogany, and walnut, just to name a few. Each Companion is completely unique because no two trays have the same grain, just like no two people have the same fingerprint.

It’s a classier/more mature option than the rolling trays you see on the market, and every hardworking, seasoned smoker should have a premium rolling tray in their collection. They’re built to last a lifetime, so you’ll literally use them every day.

The Labat Wood Shop

Pass it Around!

What have been some highlights with marketing The Labat Wood Shop?

Actually getting recognized! We’ve been on the front page of the newspaper, interviewed by blogs and great organizations, I’ve been recognized in the street by people who follow our Instagram, and have made some really great new friendships on social media as well.

All of it is extremely wonderful, and we couldn’t be more grateful! We take advantage of every opportunity we possibly can to network and grow our brand.

What have been some challenges THE LABAT WOOD SHOP has faced with marketing?

Actually making sales!! Actually generating revenue!! I think a lot of people like our product, but we’re just not seeing the numbers. We don’t have enough outreach! Not enough people are seeing us, and when they do see us, I don’t think we present like a “company.”

I think we present ourselves as an artist/woodworker/small business. But we have a lot of “irons in the fire.” There’s a lot of momentum generating, and we’re expecting a really big boost in November and December. The holidays will obviously be huge, but we’ve also got the Black Cannabis Conference in November, and I am 100% confident that we will meet the people who will help catapult us to the next level!!

What’s The Labat Wood Shop’s silver lining to it all?

Knowing that if you push through, you will succeed!! You gotta go through the grit and grind to come out on top.

What are some best practices for advertising The Labat Wood Shop?

We don’t advertise well. So we rely solely on social media posting for advertising. We haven’t fully implemented our budget yet, so we don’t run “ads”; we just post. And we don’t really post strategically. We just…post. Our real advertising strategy is about tapping into influencers.

We will definitely skyrocket if we can get our trays to Curren$y, Wiz, and Snoop.

What are some best practices for growing your audience on social media?

I wish I knew. Nothing I do seems to work, lol. I just be pouring my Lil heart into those reels. Still waiting for one to go viral.

What’s some advice you have for folks that want to enter the space?1 response

3 Ways To Use Cannabis for Spiritual Growth

Although most people don’t think of cannabis as spiritual, but think more of cannabis as a recreational drug, most commonly used during celebrations or social gatherings. However, there is more to cannabis than meets the eye.

In this article, we discuss three ways cannabis can help you spiritually grow. Then, we’ll offer you a list of books to help guide you along the journey.

What is Spirituality?

Spir·it·u·al·i·ty noun /ˌspiriCHo͞oˈalədē/

The quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things. Definitions from Oxford Languages

Spiritually is more often associated with the quest for self-transcendence. Cannabis is considered spiritual despite many religious practices that use marihuana.

Subsequently, one of the most famous uses of marijuana was by Rastafarians. Their use of the plant was to cleanse themselves spiritually to help their bodies with health benefits.

How Does Medical, Recreational, and Spiritual Cannabis Use Differ?

Medical cannabis treats various medical ailments. Recreational cannabis typically refers to marijuana consumed for its euphoric or intoxicating effects.

However, people find spiritual use of cannabis within rituals like meditation, prayer & yoga.

Three Ways to Use Cannabis for Spiritual Growth

Using cannabis through meditation

Cannabis is an herb used to relieve pain, increase focus, and treat many diseases. Using cannabis through meditation can be a great way to relax the body, clear your mind, and connect with your inner self.

It is not always easy to meditate, but it is a much better alternative than resorting to other substances that can be potentially harmful to your health. When you meditate, you can use cannabis and other natural ingredients such as lavender oil, chamomile tea, or lemon essential oil.

Using cannabis through yoga practice

Yoga is a physical and spiritual practice. Importantly, it can also be a valuable tool for healing from trauma, anxiety, and depression.

Cannabis can be ingested in various ways beneficial to users, allowing them to get more fully in touch with their minds and bodies. Many teachers and practitioners are increasingly integrating cannabis and yoga to achieve mental and physical balance.

Letting the plant itself grow spiritually in your presence

Plants are a critical part of our lives. As a result, they deserve love for who they are. Plants teach us about life, and their presence is calming and grounding.

They help us slow down and reconnect with the natural world. And, they make a great spiritual companion.

Cannabis in Your Spiritual Practice

There are many other characteristics of cannabis for spiritual use. One of the most important is that it tends to be an introspective experience.

In addition, below are a few guidelines to help you along your spiritual journey.

Strain, Dosage, and Methods

Consuming cannabis can be somewhat overwhelming for some people. The effects can quickly get overshadowed by other things. It’s essential to pace yourself, so you don’t consume too much. Start Low and Slow.

There are several methods to consume cannabis. For example, smoke, vaporize, take a tincture, or eat an edible. Choosing between Sativa, Indica, or a hybrid is totally up to you.

Each person has a different experience of how they feel after taking cannabis. It’s essential to choose your strains carefully and find what suits you best.

Intention

Take a moment before consuming cannabis to connect with yourself, with the plant, and with the universe. Taking this time can help steer and guide your experience from being too hectic or too scattered.

Set and Setting

The setting is essential no matter what you’re doing in life, especially if you’re experimenting with psychedelics. It can provide insights into your grasp of the outside world. And its relationships to the inner workings of your mind.

Working with cannabis in a spiritual space can be intensely dependent on the set (your mindset) and setting (physical surrounding environment) in the sense that it is very much about what you expect or anticipate to come out of your session.

What you allow, what you don’t allow, and how you react to certain things during your experience could affect your personal preferences.

Reverence

For those embarking on a spiritual journey with cannabis, its roots rest in reverence. Reverence is for the plant itself, nature, and the gravity of the experience.

Reverence can be spurred by connecting to nature through rituals that you do every day. Although many people feel that it can be challenging to tap into their spirituality and connect to a higher level of consciousness, they don’t need to worry. That’s because combining all these things will help you raise your vibration and provide a spiritual experience.

The Practice

Once you have chosen your intention, consumed cannabis, and gathered all of the materials you need for your chosen spiritual practice, it’s time to start experiencing its beauty.

It’s possible to self-explore your deepest desires for your spiritual practice. You might want to start by considering what you feel is most passionate to you. Experiment with your consciousness, creativity, and consumption.

In the End

Spirituality and cannabis are intersecting more often these days. And, the intersection is based on the spiritual insights that we gain from the plant and our spiritual journeys.

How to Get an MMJ Recommendation – A Clear-Cut Guide

Are you are planning on getting your first medical marijuana recommendation or looking for the easiest way to get one? With this clear-cut guide, you’ll be able to get your MMJ request within just a few minutes.

What is an MMJ Recommendation?

MMJ recommendations are medical marijuana recommendation that is given to patients by doctors. They also referred to as a rec. In addition, it is issued to an individual who has been evaluated by medical professionals and determined to be in good standing for state-legal medical marijuana use.

Marijuana recommendations are most commonly used in states with legal, medical cannabis dispensary programs or recreational marijuana dispensaries. As a result, patients can purchase cannabis online or in person. Furthermore, dispensaries have the most extensive MMJ rec systems. Rec systems include checks for criminal records, identification, and completing paperwork to determine the type of cannabis needed.

Why do I Need an MMJ Recommendation?

You might be wondering why you need an MMJ recommendation when you can go out and buy marijuana in the black market. Short answer – many states require a valid MMJ recommendation to purchase medical marijuana legally.

Here are a few reasons why you need an mmj recommendation:

  • Purchases at dispensaries require a recommendation.
  • To help if you’re found using marijuana without a medical card.
  • It provides the dispensary information on your current conditions to recommend something more tailored for your needs.
  • Marijuana is safer than some other prescribed medications like Opioids.
  • Further, isolated compounds—such as CBD —can offer treatment options without the “high” produced by the compound commonly known as THC.
  • In addition, for thousands of years, cannabis has consistently provided impressive results to treat a variety of conditions.

In summary, an MMJ recommendation provides legitimacy to the person receiving it and helps them find the proper treatment for their condition.

How to Find an MMJ Doctor

Not only should patients consider asking their primary care physician for a referral to an appropriate cannabis doctor, but also understand the cannabis doctor must be licensed by the state and no disciplinary action taken against them. If your primary doctor is not comfortable giving you a referral, ask them if they know someone who would be able to help you.

Second, when you seek an MMJ doctor, you can start by asking friends and family for a recommendation. However, if your immediate circle isn’t familiar with a good doctor for your request, they can always ask their friends and family about one. In the same way, it’s not uncommon to have mutual friends or co-workers who have been looking for an MMJ doctor as well.

Another easy way would be to call your local pharmacy or dispensary. Ask for their recommendations. They should know who the most reputable doctors in town are, as well as who they recommend to their customers most often.

Can I Get My MMJ Recommendation Online?

The easiest way to find an MMJ doctor is by going online and searching for them. Remember that the internet is a vast place, and there are plenty of options out there.

We recommend Prestodoctors.com as a good place to start. Prestodoctors.com is an online platform that connects patients with MMJ doctors. They have a database of licensed MMJ doctors that they have personally vetted before approving them to serve as their “presto” doctors.

To find a good MMJ doctor for your MMJ request, here are some steps that you should follow:

  • Make a list of experienced in MMJ doctors in your area
  • Search for reviews on the doctors in your area
  • Find out if they have vacancies in any open times

Qualifying Conditions for an MMJ Recommendation

If you are wondering, “what conditions make it possible to get an mmj recommendation?” you are not alone. Many people are unsure of the approved conditions for an mmj recommendation.

The laws around medicinal marijuana vary from state to state, but generally, states that allow it permits its use for treating:

  • Cancer
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Epilepsy and seizures
  • Chronic pain
  • Severe nausea
  • Insomnia
  • Mental health

If you’re in a state where doctors can prescribe cannabis, your primary care physician might recommend it to help with relieving chronic symptoms that impact your quality of life. This includes health problems that prevent you from getting out and doing daily activities.

What is a Typical Medical Marijuana Application Process?

The application process for an MMJ card can vary from state to state. Some states use processes, such as sending in your personal physician’s recommendation, while other states may require you to send in lab test results.

The first step is to fill out an application at the dispensary or online. There are some required questions which include your name, age, height, weight, and diagnosis. The required questions allows the dispensary staff to verify you are lawfully allowed access to medical marijuana.

Then, you will schedule an appointment to see a licensed mmj physician to evaluate your request. Afterwards, the physician will inform you if you are approved.

Some in-person MMJ recommendations take two weeks. Whereas online recommendations take less than an hour. As a result, the process of getting support has become much more streamlined and efficient.

The third step would be visiting a dispensary, where you then pick out what strain of cannabis matches your needs or wants best.

Now you have your Marijuana Recommendation, What’s Next?

The next step, make sure your preferred strain is compatible with your needs. Are you looking for a strain for daytime or nighttime use? Does Indica or Sativa interest you? Do you want to stay basic with just one type of cannabis or mix up your routine? Speak to your physician, mmj doctor, friends, or budtender to help you determine which strain best fits your needs.
